Cavaliers’ Max Strus Undergoes Foot Surgery, Faces 3-4 Month Recovery

Cleveland Cavaliers player Max Strus has successfully undergone surgery to address a Jones fracture in his left foot. The team confirmed on Tuesday that he is expected to be sidelined for approximately three to four months as he recovers.

The injury, which involves a fracture of the bone connecting the pinkie toe to the foot`s base, occurred during Strus`s recent offseason training. He is projected to resume basketball-related activities within the same three-to-four-month recovery window.

Strus, who is 28 years old, joined the Cavaliers two summers ago via a significant four-year, $63 million sign-and-trade deal. Since then, he has been an integral part of Cleveland`s transformation into a competitive force in the Eastern Conference.

Last season, Strus also faced an early setback, suffering a right ankle sprain during workouts. After missing the initial two months of play, he returned to contribute an average of 9.4 points and 3.2 assists, with an impressive 38.6% shooting accuracy from beyond the arc.

Given his estimated recovery period, Strus is anticipated to miss at least the opening months of the upcoming season. The Cavaliers are scheduled to commence their season on October 22.
