Norwegian tennis player Casper Ruud, currently ranked 12th in the world, shared his preliminary reflections on the current season, stating his intention to make a final push in the remaining months.
“This year has been marked by both highs and lows. For the first time in my career, I had to miss several weeks due to health issues, specifically with my knee, which presented a new challenge for me.”
Ruud further elaborated on his season`s standout moment and his overall sentiments:
“I will remember this season for winning the tournament in Madrid. Indeed, I claimed the most significant title of my career, and during that period, I was playing at a very high level. However, I cannot say that I am entirely satisfied with the overall results. There were too many early-round defeats, and I am trying to learn from them.”
Looking ahead, Ruud remains focused on a strong finish:
“The season isn`t over yet, and I hope to conclude it honorably, perhaps even contending for another ATP title. Although that will be very difficult. My current goal is to perform well in the upcoming weeks. We`ll see what happens after the tournament in Paris.”
The world No. 12 also shared his perspective on his ranking and motivation:
“I don`t see a significant difference between finishing 11th or 15th in the season-end rankings. It feels like an `all or nothing` situation in this case. I will try to use this as extra motivation for a final push.”
At the Madrid Masters tournament, Casper Ruud emerged victorious, defeating Britain`s Jack Draper in the final with a score of 7/5, 3/6, 6/4.
