Carlos Alcaraz Pulls Out of Shanghai Masters After Tokyo Triumph

World No. 1 and six-time Grand Slam champion, Spain`s Carlos Alcaraz, has announced his withdrawal from the ATP Masters 1000 event in Shanghai, China, scheduled from October 1 to 12. This decision comes shortly after his successful title run at the ATP 500 tournament in Tokyo, Japan.

Alcaraz shared the news on social media, expressing his regret: “It is with deep regret that I announce I will not be able to compete in Shanghai this year. Unfortunately, I`ve been experiencing some health issues, and after consulting with my team, we`ve decided it`s best to take a break for recovery.”

He added a message to his fans: “I was really looking forward to playing in front of the amazing fans in Shanghai again. I hope to return to the court as soon as possible and meet my Chinese fans next year!”
