12-time Grand Slam singles champion Billie Jean King has expressed her immense gratitude and honor at receiving her own star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame.
King is the first woman to receive a star in the sports entertainment category. She stated she was “beyond words” to describe how honored and thankful she felt.
She extended heartfelt thanks to the Hollywood Chamber of Commerce, Magic Johnson, and Jamie Lee Curtis for their inspiring words during the ceremony. She also thanked everyone else involved in making this special day a reality.
King concluded her message by noting that while she may be the first woman in this category to receive a star, she is determined not to be the last, encouraging continued progress and recognition for women in sports.
