Barbora Strýcová Runs Prague Marathon, Calls it “Most Difficult Sporting Challenge”

Former doubles world No. 1 Barbora Strýcová successfully completed the Prague Marathon. She covered the standard marathon distance of 42.195 kilometers in a time of 3 hours, 18 minutes, and 39 seconds.

Sharing her reflections on social media, Strýcová wrote:

My first marathon! What can I say – I gave it my all. It was probably the most difficult sporting challenge I have ever faced… But it was worth it! What an experience! From euphoria to crises at 25 km and 37 km, from laughter to tears before the start when I heard `Vltava` playing. Thank you to everyone who supported me both on the course and from afar. I cannot express how much I appreciate it. A time of 3:18 – my legs probably won`t forget that.

It`s worth noting that the 39-year-old Strýcová has not competed on the professional tour since Wimbledon 2023, marking her second retirement. Earlier in 2024, she welcomed a daughter.
