World number one Aryna Sabalenka shared her thoughts on Iga Swiatek`s current level of play after defeating her in the Roland Garros semifinals with a score of 7/6(1), 4/6, 6/0.
During the post-match press conference, Sabalenka was asked for her assessment of Swiatek`s game. The question noted that their last meeting was approximately 10 months prior.
Sabalenka responded: “We both improved a lot since then. I think we played a very high-level match today.”
“Iga played really well. In the first part of the match, we both had some struggles with the serve,” she added.
“I think she`s playing great tennis. Maybe she`s not as confident, so sometimes she`s missing shots that she shouldn`t. But overall, I think our match was at a very high level,” Aryna concluded at the press conference.
