World No. 72 Arthur Rinderknech shared his feelings after securing a victory against Alexander Zverev in the Wimbledon first round. The intense match, which he won with a score of 6/7(3), 7/6(8), 3/6, 7/6(5), 4/6, was notably extended over two days because of the tournament`s curfew.
Speaking in an on-court interview, the Frenchman commented, “I`ll start by mentioning the fans – I feel the same energy as you, especially with that `Uuu!` every time. It almost leaves me speechless when I hear it (laughs). My legs are literally still shaking from all the emotions. I`m just so glad the match is finally concluded. I barely got any sleep last night – only about six hours. This sport we play is unbelievably stressful; the emotions run incredibly high.”
