Andy Roddick Highlights Similarities Between Mirra Andreeva and Two Tennis Greats

Former world number one Andy Roddick shared his insights on the distinctive qualities of Mirra Andreeva’s game during a podcast with Kim Clijsters.

Roddick noted, “It’s fascinating how impactful her winners are, even though she doesn’t overpower opponents. Her shot trajectory is exceptional, and she cleverly incorporates elements like drop shots and varying heights. It’s quite remarkable.”

He further elaborated, “While her serve is strong, her overall style evokes memories of Martina Hingis. Hingis was known for her ability to anticipate and play against her opponent’s momentum, always thinking one step ahead. In fact, Andreeva’s game feels like a blend of both you [Clijsters] and Hingis, especially in her fluid movement and versatile forehand from different positions on the court. She truly stands out as one of the most multifaceted players in women’s tennis today.”
