Alexey Selivanenko on Lois Boisson’s Roland Garros Breakthrough: “The Beauty of Tennis”

Alexey Selivanenko, a member of the International Tennis Hall of Fame committee, commented on Mirra Andreeva`s loss to Lois Boisson in the Roland Garros quarterfinals. Boisson defeated Andreeva with a score of 6/7(6), 3/6.

Selivanenko remarked on the unexpected nature of Boisson`s performance: “Hardly anyone a week ago could have predicted that Lois Boisson would make such a rapid breakthrough and defeat so many much higher-ranked opponents consecutively. This is the beauty of tennis; there is always room for such stories.”

Lois Boisson is notably the first Roland Garros semifinalist in the Open Era to enter the main draw on a wild card.
