World No. 2 Alexander Zverev of Germany has named a quartet of players, including himself, who are setting the standard in men`s tennis today.
“There are four of us showing a roughly similar level of play. Last season was somewhat inconsistent: my own performance in the second half of the year could have been better, Alcaraz had both highs and lows, while Sinner was consistently strong. Nevertheless, I remain among the leaders, along with Djokovic. Restoring balance in the fight for the top spot is quite achievable.”
“I’m happy to see new names, but currently, there are four players demonstrating extra-class tennis: Sinner, myself maintaining the second position in the ranking, Alcaraz, and Novak. The competition between us is very high.”
“I am confident that in 2025, we will remain in the spotlight, and the season will be more even than the previous ones. It would be short-sighted to draw conclusions based only on 2024, as many unexpected events occurred. I feel rested and ready for new achievements,” Zverev stated.
