World No. 32 Alejandro Tabilo commented on his surprising win against Novak Djokovic in the second round of the Monte Carlo Masters, where he secured a victory with sets of 6/3, 6/4.
“I’ve had a tough year, so I was a bit nervous going into the match,” Tabilo admitted. “I just tried to recall what worked for me previously, and thankfully, my serve was effective today. It really helped me to reset after the initial game. It was an unbelievable match.”
When asked about his challenging start to the year, which included six defeats in his first six matches, Tabilo explained, “There were some personal issues I was dealing with, but we’ve been working through them. Things have gradually become easier with each match. I’m just really happy now to be feeling better.” He shared these words in an on-court interview following his victory.
