The PGA Tour`s only team event is scheduled to tee off this week at TPC Louisiana.
Ryder Cup teammates Rory McIlroy and Shane Lowry headline the 160-player field, where participants form two-person teams for the Zurich Classic of New Orleans. McIlroy and Lowry are looking to successfully defend their title after their victory last season in a playoff against Chad Ramey and Martin Trainer.
This tournament marks McIlroy`s first competitive appearance since winning the 2025 Masters and achieving the coveted career Grand Slam.
After 36 holes, the top 33 teams and any ties will advance to the final two rounds. The championship will be decided through two rounds of foursomes (alternate shot) and two rounds of four-ball (best ball). The winning pair will each receive a prize of $1,329,400 and 400 FedEx Cup points.
Since 2017, the tournament`s unique two-man format has encouraged pairings based on connections such as nationality, college affiliation, or hometown. The current tournament scoring record of 30-under 258 was set by Nick Hardy and Davis Riley in 2023.
